Condition

Sir Francis: The miniature is in good condition. There has perhaps been a little fading to some of the pigments - however this is extremely minor. There are several scratches to the glass. Lady Mary: Some of the pigments in the miniature have faded in a minor fashion. This might particularly be said of the skin tones, which have yellowed somewhat. Nevertheless the miniature has retained is presence and the overall balance of the work can still be enjoyed.
