Condition

STRUCTURE The canvas has been lined. PAINT SURFACE The painting appears to be in good condition. There is a layer of discoloured varnish and dirt overall. There does not appear to be any paint loss or discoloured over painting. ULTRAVIOLET Examination under ultraviolet light confirms a dirty and opaque varnish overall. There are no signs of retouching or over paint and it appears that the painting is in good, original condition. FRAME Held in a gold painted, carved wooden frame.
