The sky of the original is a little more yellow in tone than it appears in the catalogue illustration. The support consists of two horizontal panels joined to the reverse with one horizontal baton and two vertical batons, overall the support has a slight convex bow. The paint surface is secure and in good condition, although somewhat abraded in the darker brown pigments and under a dirty varnish. Retouching work is evident along the panel join and this is confirmed under UV light which also reveals some other scattered minor retouchings. Offered in an ornate carved gilt wood frame with some losses.
