Condition
The support consists of a single, flat, stable piece of slate.
The paint surface is good condition, bar numerous surface scratches and is clean with much of its original impasto.
Inspection under UV light reveals some scattered retouching and strengthening to the figures and foreground.
Offered in gilt wood frame with some old inactive worm holes, in good condition if a little rubbed.
