Description

  • Joachim Govertsz. Camphuysen
  • a mountainous landscape with figures walking along a path with a horse and cart
  • signed lower right: J Camphuysen
  • oil on panel

Condition

The support consists of two flat stable panels joined to the reverse. The paint surface is secure, if a little abraded in some areas, most notably back left. Retouching work is evident along the right hand side of the panel join and in the clouded areas of the sky. Inspection under UV light confirms this and reveals other scattered retouchings. Offered in a heavily cracked ornate plaster frame.
