L'esame alla lampada di Wood evidenzia la presenza di vernice fluorescente più spessa sulla figura dell'uomo. Ritocchi lungo i 4 lati in corrispondenza della battitura della cornice, due ritocchi (cm 4 circa) nell'angolo superiore sinistro, altri due (cm 6 e cm 3 circa) nell'angolo inferiore sinistro, qualche ritocco puntiforme nel cielo in alto a destra e in alto al centro; un piccolo ritocco nella parte bassa a destra dell'uomo, qualche ritocco lungo la canna da pesca e tre colature di vernice pigmentata al di sotto della canna da pesca. Un restauro lungo cm 10 circa sotto la canna da pesca verso l'angolo inferiore a sinistra.
Si suggerisce una leggera pulitura.
L'opera si presenta in ottimo stato di conservazione.

The ultra violet light reveals fluorescent varnish thicker on the man, retouches along the edges next to the frame, two retouches (cm 4 circa) over the top left hand side corner, two others (cm 6 and cm 3 circa) over the lower left hand side corner, small spots over the sky on the right hand side and in the centre, a small one in the lower part of the man, some other retouches over the fishing rod and three drips of coloured varnish underneath the rod. A restoration (cm 10 circa) under the rod towards thr left hand side corner.
A light cleansing si suggested.
The overall condition as to the state of preservation is excellent.
