Condition
The painting is warmer in tone and yellower than the catalogue illustration suggests. The decorative signed canvas has a recent relining. The paint surface has become somewhat flattened however, it appears secure and is clean. Inspection under UV light reveals some minor retouchings in the background as well a vertical line of retouching of 20 cm running centrally from the lower edge, possibly corresponding to an old fold. Strengthenings can be made out in the central white flowers as well as the red carnation lower right and in the flower centre right.
Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame in good condition.
