Condition

Unframed. Laid down twice. The paper is slightly yellowed and there is a water-type stain at the lower left and three small light fox marks. Otherwise the condition is fine, the chalk strong.

Catalogue Note

Although he is not known as a draughtsman, this portrait strongly resembles the paintings of Ferdinand Voet, who was active in Rome from about 1670, producing portraits for the papal court.
