Hesse", "H H"), one with an autograph pen and watercolour illustration, five typed letters signed, two typed notes, seven autograph notes on postcards, three postcard photographic portraits signed; the letters mentioning Thomas Mann, Penzoldt, Carossa and Buber, discussing the war, religions and the intolerance of Christianity, his sons, his difficulty in working, his generally poor health, the pleasure he obtains by finding beautiful new things in poetry and music, and many other matters ("...Mir sind alle Religionen der Welt teuer und ehrwürdig, weil sie alle die vielleicht edelste Fähigkeit des Menschen zur Quelle haben: die Ehrfurcht.
