Condition

The painting is in good condition, as is the canvas, which is clear and taut. Some minor rub marks are present on the corners of the painting but the paint layers are intact. A very minor ink mark is present in the background, in the middle right portion. The actual painting is overall less blue and warmer. The background is more beige than grey and possesses a slight red undertone and the white is without any blue tint.

Catalogue Note

Handiwirman had been slowly and consistently testing his own sensibilities and artistic sensitivity in handling the possibilities of form, material, and the problem of presentation and representation, so that he might use these in his installation and painting. These [works] clearly show his sophistication in handling the figurative and performative nature of the seemingly organic form of objects.
