Ruby and diamond brooch, Cartier, circa 1970

Of stylised floral design, the petals set with brilliant- and circular-cut diamonds, the pistil set with pear-shaped cabochon rubies, the stem with baguette diamonds, mounted in platinum, signed Cartier and numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Stamped Pt 950 for platinum, French assay marks for platinum and gold, numbered P9875. Cabochon rubies good colour saturation with typical crystal inclusions, minor scratches. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 2.50 carats, generally G-I colour, VS clarity. Scratches to the metal, consistent with age and wear. Safety catch to brooch fitting. In good condition.
