Condition
This painting is untouched by any restorer and largely undamaged. The paint layer has never been cleaned or varnished. It is in very healthy state. Some cracking has developed in the heaviest applications of paint. This cracking has become slightly unstable in the lower right corner. The paint layer is dirty, but is quite fragile in this area. Some consolidation will have to be carried out in the lower right prior to cleaning. In theory, very little actual retouching will be required and the only loss will be in the lower right.
