Condition

The canvas is lined. There is a thick varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating but there appear to be some areas of fluorescence to the upper right edge and to the lower edge of the plate, probably due to an uneven varnish. Apart from some further specks of darker fluorescence to the centre fruit and the apricot, possibly old retouching to cover craquelure and visible under UV light, this work is in good condition. Colours: Overall fairly accurate although the colours are deeper in the original, particularly in the background.
