  • A FINE GOLD AND ENAMEL PEARL-SET MUSICAL SNUFF BOX WITH CENTER SECONDS WATCH, MADE FOR THE CHINESE MARKETCIRCA 1800
  • Gold and enamel
  • width 8 cm
• full plate gilt movement with sur plateau music work • rectangular box with hinged top, the top and base overlaid with translucent blue enamel against guilloché, the borders and corners with powder blue champlevé enamel with foliate swags, the top centered by a pearl-set bezel rondel revealing the watch • the hinged lid concealing a gold reserve, centered by white enamel dial with Roman numerals and center seconds, the reserve fitted with regulator and winding holes, enhanced by blue enamel foliate swags and trophies of music on either side • unsigned

Condition

The condition overall is quite good and it is a lovely quality box. The enamel dial with minimal wear to the surface. The enamel, other than surface scuffs, has only slight abrasions to the corner pieces. The music and movement will require cleaning. These will take male keys. The complete dimensions are height 2 cm, width 8 cm, depth 4 1/4 cm.
