Description

- A Rare "Viking" Table Lamp
- shade impressed THE DUFFNER & KIMBERLY CO./NEW YORK
leaded glass and patinated metal
Provenance
James D. Julia, Fairfield, ME, June 19, 2008, lot 389
Condition
Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 15 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. One piece of green glass has been replaced along the lower border by a professional leaded glass conservator. The patinated metal surfaces on the shade and base with some light rubbing and a few scattered small and minor losses to the patina, consistent with age and gentle use. With period “Viking” finial, which shows rubbing to the patina on the high points. The threaded pin which secures the finial is replaced. Appears to retain the original sockets and pull chains. A superb example of this rare model, displaying the ideal pairing of the “Viking” shade and base.
