Description
- Andrea Scacciati
- Natura morta con vaso di fiori mediceo
- olio su tela
Provenance
Firenze, Il Fiorino Antichità (da etichetta sul retro).
Condition
The painting is darker in tone than the illustration suggests. The canvas has a modern and firm relining whic has not overly flattened the paint surface which is under quite a thick varnish. Some surface scratches are present upper right, as well as some craquelure throughout. The painting appears to the naked eye to be in good condition. Inspection under UV light reveals some scattered retouchings in the background but the flowers appear well preserved. Removal of the varnish and application of a new one would imrpove the overall tonality of the painting.
Offered in a later wooden frame in good condition with some minor losses.
