Panel is flat, made from one piece of wood, and beveled on one side. A rather slick varnish has been applied to the painting, which under UV renders much of the background very dark, making an accurate reading of older restoration difficult. The right cheek and eye of the sitter have some retouches applied, which are perceptible to the naked eye. A few minor retouches are applied throughout the darks of the drapery of the sitter, but these seem to be for reinforcement. The draped rug sitting on the table is in lovely condition, and overall the picture presents a strong image. In a carved wooden frame with only a few wormholes scattered throughout.
