Condition
Canvas has been relined and the paint surface has been a bit pressed as a result. detail, however, remains quite good overall. there is a fine craquelure pattern, mostly noticeable at the right side in the sky and foreground. examination under ultraviolet light reveals retouchings to the right side of the composition: in the sky (including over what appears to be an old repaired puncture at center), inpainting of the craquelure in the water and foreground, and a few small retouches to the foliage and house at far right. the left side of the painting looks good with just a few tiny retouches to the base of one of the trees.
In a dark brown wood frame with gilt outer edge.
