- Pearl, diamond, gold and silver
Baroque pearls measuring approximately 11.3 by 8.0 mm. to 6.0 by 5.0 mm., larger old mine diamonds weighing approximately 1.40 carats, smaller old mine diamonds weighing approximately .95 carat, mounted in gold and silver.
Condition
Set with 2 larger old mine diamonds and 25 smaller old mine diamonds. Estimated color of largest diamond H-I color, estimated clarity VS2-SI1 with evidence of nicks to the girdle. Estimated color of the second largest old mine diamond I-J, estimated clarity VS. Estimated color of remaining stones H-K with occasional L-M, estimated clarity VS-I. Pearls range from off-round to button-shaped to slightly baroque and present varying shades silvery and creamy of white. Waxy to satin-like luster; generally moderate blemishing in the form wrinkled skins and pitting. The brooch appears to be made from antique elements with a later-added, closed-back mounting and pin. Evidence of lead solder to reverse. In overall good condition.
