Description

  • pine/poplar
each with a carved rectangular back centred by an oval roundel depicting a reclining Venus at her toilette flanked by ribbon-tied oak leaves above a trapezoid shaped padded back, the seat-rail applied with flowerheads on stiff-leaf carved fluted tapering legs terminating in toupie feet, with sabre rear legs

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. An attractive model and rare to have such a large set. Colour overall slightly darker and more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Joints sound and sturdy. Some hairline construction cracks generally. Some retouching to the decoration. Measurements: 85cm. high, 49cm. wide, 39cm. deep, 45cm. floor to seat
