Molded and Gilded Copper Codfish Weathervane, American Third Quarter 19th Century
Estimate
25,000 - 50,000 USD
bidding is closed
Description
- Height 10 1/4 in. by Length 33 in.
the full-bodied form with applied sheet copper fins.
Provenance
Julie Lindbergh Antiques, Wayne, Pennsylvania
Condition
is in very good condition, with the to-be-expected b-b gun pellet dings, and wear that is characteristic of work that was for outside use. There has been a small amount of touch up to the gilding, near the belly of the fish, otherwise it is fine – and unusual in its size and completeness.
