both of tapered square form raised on angular scroll feet, the lower bodies applied with bands of different geometric patterns inlaid with copper, niello and gold, the body of one vase inlaid with a copper and niello scene of a man fishing, the opposite side with a copper and niello pseudo Japanese character, the second vas with etched with magnolia blossoms against a partially speckled ground and applied at angles with copper and gold shaped circular discs inlaid with silver in various patterns, the bases engraved with monogram EMR in pseudo Japanese characters
