  • 111cm. high 103cm. wide, 55cm. deep; 3ft. 7¾in., 3ft. 5in., 1ft. 9¾in.
the oyster-veneered fall revealing a fitted interior centered by a mirrored door flanked by book-spine slides, an arrangement of pigeonholes,  six drawers and a leather writing surface

Condition

In country house condition with a later heavy varnished finish which obscures the ivory elements to the chevron inlay. The top surface dry and unpolished. Integral cracks to veneers throughout. Replacement veneers to the top of the side flanking right side of fall. The interior with replaced leather. The right loper with extensive losses to veneer and bandings. Smaller losses to bandings on the left loper. Escutcheon to lower drawer lacking. Loss to veneer beneath right loper. Some age cracks to sides. Small losses and replacements to chevron bandings and cocked beading. General old marks and scratches. Good colour. A rare example
