Overall very good condition; blue pigment to silk background with slight fading; threads retaining vibrant colors with minor fading; silk pictures in very good condition; the frames in good condition with small chips and wear to gilding and with some inpainting.

Catalogue Note

The present silk needlework pictures are incorrectly inscribed 'The Seat of the Hon. Horsace Walsh, Twickenahm.  Worked by Mrs. Sheckell, 12 Grove St, Twickenahm'.  Each picture depicts a view of Strawberry Hill, Middlesex, the celebrated Gothic villa built for Horace Walpole.
