the oval backrest with beaded border and centered by a pierced waisted splat carved with a demi-sunburst to the top and base and flanked by curved beaded armrests continuing to downswept supports above a caned seat and raised on square tapering legs headed by flowerhead patera and ending in block feet. The underside with an indecipherable partial paper label.

Condition
Overall good condition; the lacquer stable throughout with cracquelure and some small losses and rubbing to the cresting rail and to back of rail; rubbing and wear to gilding of molded edges throughout; some nicks, wear and losses to flower-head patera above legs and with some inpainting to gilding; the front legs cut and re-attached; the gilding to the back splat appears to be original but with dirt or a wash over it and would benefit from professional cleaning; small losses to collars of front legs; re-caned.
