Condition

Overall good restored condition; nice carving and color to timbers; with later waxed polished surface; overall with some old marks, scratches scuffs and bruises; some brackets replaced. Chair 'V' with a paper label inscribed in black ink Langmead. Another chair with a partial paper label inscribed in black ink R J Langmead. Chair 'IIII' with two small age cracks to the pierced splat; the back rail possibly replaced; the back rail now with a later support block for the drop-in seat; later corner blocks; the tops of the back legs each with a patch beneath the joins with the side rails; the underside of two stretchers stamped V; the front apron with a small replaced section to the bottom molded edge; the left stretcher with a small replaced section to the inside edge at join with front left leg; brackets with some old repaired breaks; later drop-in seat; Chair 'V' the back of the front rail with a later added fillet to support the seat; the back fillet penciled 'III'; the bracket with some old repaired breaks; old worm damage to the back rail; later drop in seat; Chair 'I' with old repaired break to the cresting rail at join with the splat and now with inpainting and visible horizontal crack and possibly with a replaced section; the top of the left stile with an old repaired break and now with a fillet at join with cresting rail; the top right quadrant of the splat replaced; bottom left corner of splat with a vertical age crack; the back seat rail now with a later block to support the seat with old worm damage; later corner blocks; the undersides of two stretchers stamped 'I'; later drop-in seat. Chair 'III' with old repaired break to splat; top of front left leg at corner with a small replaced section of lattice carving; later drop-in seat.
