Description

- height 27 1/4 in.; diameter 42 in.
- 69.2 cm; 106.7 cm
the circular top with later inset leather lining above a conforming frieze fitted with four drawers alternating with four dummy drawers supported by a turned stem raised on four downswept legs ending in brass capped casters. One lock plate with pencilled inscription Brass Tumbler (?).
Condition
Top and bottom associated. Overall good restored condition; the leather-lining replaced and with some sun fading and the usual scratches and scuffs; the cross-banding with a small patch and with a small inpainted restored chip; the frieze with small patches throughout especially to the lower edge beneath one short drawer with inpainting, patches and infilling to the lower apron and edge; one drawer front lacking bone keyhole escutcheon and now with infilling and inpainting and above a circular patch; the top of the stem with four vacant screw holes; old repaired break to one leg above join with brass-capped caster now with inpainting and graining; casters replaced - the underside of each leg at join with caster with a batten filling in a channel where caster was attached.
