Description

each potted with straight sides rising from a flat footring, the exterior meticulously carved with joyful figures engaged in fishing, woodcutting, ploughing, and reading, or the 'Four Pleasures', all in a continuous landscape with rivers and pavilions, applied overall with a muted honey-yellow glaze, the rims densely packed with dots imitating bamboo, the underside impressed with a four-character reign mark

Condition

There is a round kiln chip/flake to the footring, measuring around 0.6cm diameter, on one brushpot. The other brushpot has a shallow flake of 0.3x0.8cm on the interior immediately under the rim, now touched up, with associate overpaint around it as cover-up. Except for one or two minute flake, the relief carving is well preserved and in very good condition
