Description

the robustly potted ovoid body rising from a flat base to a short tapering neck, painted around the exterior in rich dark cobalt-blue tones with large lotus flower heads borne on leafy scrolling stems, all between a lotus-lappet band at the base and a pendent jewelled collar encircling the neck
Condition
This jar is in good condition, but does have a glaze inconsistency (15mm diameter) to one side and a circular brown stain to the glaze (10mm diameter) to the other side. There is also an area of glaze crawling (14mm by 12mm) to the side, revealing part of the unglazed body. There is also some general scratching and pitting to the glaze. There is also a manufacturing flaw to one area of the glaze and body (8mm by 15mm) at the foot.
