Description

  • Bamboo
finely carved in the round, seated on rockwork wearing a simple loose robe open at the chest to reveal his large stomach, his head tilted to the side and his face with a broad smile, the wood patinated to a dark toffee tone, Japanese wood box

Condition

The carving is in very good overall condition with the exception of a possible break to the bottom tip of the beard at the chest and right hand and a narrow 1.5cm., wide area of infill to the shoulder area at the back.
