Description

each box with straight-sides and indented corners rising from an angled base and short straight foot, the stepped cover carved with a hexgaonal panel enclosing warriors in a fenced garden under pine and wutong, all within key-fret bands reserved on a diaper ground to the cover and box, the inetrior and base lacquered black, wood stands
Condition
This fine pair of boxes and covers are in very good overall condition with the exception of light re-freshing to the red lacquer on a 3cm., wide section of the edge of the rim on one cover, minor loss to two of the 'targets' in the central panel of the same cover, minor loss to the flowers on the ridge above the rockwork on the central panel of the other cover, light age cracks and crazing to the black lacquer on the interior and exterior of one box, possible re-freshing to the black lacquer interior of the other box and cover and the one cover.
