Description

  • Jade with wood stand
the crisply carved lobed box rising from a short spreading foot, the domed lobed cover carved in low relief with a central quatrefoil panel enclosing a prunus spray, the stone of very pale whitish-celadon tone, carved wood stand

Condition

This box is in very good condition with the exception of light nicks to the rims of the box and cover, some due to the marbling of the stone, one minor nick to the edge of the foot, a 2cm russet-coloured vein from the rim of the box extending down the side, natural cross-hatching of veins through the centre of the box, very minor surface nicks to the exterior of the box and interior of the cover due to irregularities of the stone, and very light scratches and rubbing to the interior of the box.
