the baluster body rising from a recessed base to a short waisted rim, painted around the exterior with four arched panels of frontal facing five-clawed dragons writhing amongst flame scrolls, all between a lappet collar at the shoulder and a band of stiff leaves at the base

Condition

This 'dragon' jar is in good overall condition with the exception of three hairline glaze starcracks to the interior (one five-pointed and circa 7cm., wide, one four-pointed and circa 4cm. wide and one 3-pointed and circa 3cm wide), light polishing to the rim, minor pin-prick-sized fritting at the rim and glaze scratches.
