Description
- Ceramic
the pear-shaped body rising from a short spreading foot to a tall cylindrical neck with broad everted rim, carved around the exterior with a leafy undulating composite floral scroll above a lotus lappet band, the neck with two sets of raised ribs divided by a pair of dragon-head handles suspending large fixed rings, covered overall with a bluish-green glaze thinning to white at the edges and around the carved decoration
Condition
The vase is in very good overall condition with the exception of some minor firing imperfctions including a slight lean to the neck, a 2mm depression to the exterior of the neck with corresponding mishapen section to the interior, a burst bubble on the shoulder, iron spots and light glaze scratches. It should be noted that the glaze is of a slightly warmer tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest and that the glaze is slightly less glossy on the lower half of the vessel than the upper half.
