Literature

Victor Arwas, Art Nouveau to Art Deco, The Art of Glass, Berks, 1996, p. 82

Condition

A unique box in good overall condition. The foil acts as a mirror and gives a distorted view in the catalogue illustration. Object is a more pleasing grey/green tone with better contrast in the staining so that the flowers are more defined than the catalogue illustration suggests. With minor surface scratches, consistent with age. The panel to the back with area of small chips to upper left side, circa 1.8cm. long, almost concealed by mount. The panel to the left side with chip to left side corner and the panel to the right side with chips to the left side corner. The foil backing is tarnished and with areas of black staining as visible in catalogue illustration. A rare object which will be included in the new edition of Marcilhac's catalogue raisonne.
