Description
- An Apulian Black-glazed Hydria
- Terracotta
- Height 18 1/4 in. 46.3 cm.
with reeded body, overhanging rim carved with egg-and-dart, and ribbed handles with knobbed central collar, the body encircled by a band painted with a central disk flanked by scrolling acanthus tendrills, the neck decorated with a necklace of festooned tear-shaped pendants, the details in added yellow and white.

Condition
Repaired from several fragments with inpainting along the breaklines and probable small areas of restoration, one handle amateurishly repaired most of the surface of the body has been coated in shellac, several shallow chips along the base
