  • Heights 2 7/8 and 3 7/8 in. 7.2 and 9.9 cm.
one with 10 + 10 lines of text, receipt for quantities of barley from named individuals, reign of Shu-Sin, year 4, the other with 13 + 9 lines of text, receipt of wool garments with their qualities and weights specified, reign of Shu-Sin, year 6, from Umma.

Erlenmeyer Collection, Basel, acquired in the 1950s (Christie's, London, Ancient Near Eastern Texts from the Erlenmeyer Collection, December 13th, 1988, no. 74, illus. of one)

Condition

The larger tablet is in excellent condition, the number "69" written in white on one side; the smaller tablet is repaired in two places as shown in the photo, with chips along the break lines; on the reverse the break lines are barely visible, but there is a large chip in a bottom corner (partly visible in the photograph at bottom left).
