Catalogue Note

Throughout the 20th century the French water bottler Perrier advertized their product creatively, employing many noteworthy artists including Domergue and Cassandre. Through their advertizing agency Langelaan & Cerf, Warhol was commissioned in 1983 to create designs for an ad campaign and the resulting poster received the Grand prix de l'affiche française that year.  The present work on canvas, created in 1984, is based on this project.
