This sculpture is in very good condition overall. The brushed aluminum exhibits some slight signs of handling marks around the outer edges as is to be expected. There are scattered faint scratches in the aluminum that are inherent in such a highly polished surface. The sculpture consists of two different color Plexiglas panels – yellow and blue – in each unit. There are scattered areas where it appears that dust and/or moisture has entered between the Plexiglas panels, which would be determined by removing the bolted aluminum backs to gain access to the Plexiglas. From left to right, these areas – which may or may not have affected the coating of the Plexiglas - are primarily located as follows: feathery flecks in the bottom half of the panels in the first and second units = a 1 ½ in. drip in upper right of second unit = a 2 inch drip, small spot and a 1 ¼ inch drip aligned vertically 1 ¾ in. in from the left edge of the third unit = a spot in the lower right corner and a 1 ½ in. diagonal spot in the bottom third of the 4th unit. The artist's intended spacing between the boxes is 25 cm (9 ¾ inches) and not as illustrated in the catalogue.
