Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of light wear and handling with associated losses to the edges and corners of the canvas and the artist's frame. All of the affixed elements are stable and secure. All inconsistencies in the painted surface appear inherent to the medium and the artist's working method. There is evidence of fine and stable craquelure particularly in the orange are and which appears to be the result of impact from the reverse. Under ultraviolet light inspection there is scattered evidence of inpainting primarily located near the rifle on the bottom left edge of the left panel.
