Condition

This work appears in very good condition overall and the canvas is well stretched. The paint layer is sound apart from several scattered and unobtrusive hairline cracks throughout the composition. There is also evidence of scattered minor soft craquelure. There is evidence of scattered soiling and spot accretions and the colors and surface would presumably enhance with cleaning. Under normal light conditions, there is evidence of spot soiling and accretions particularly located in the upper left quadrant. Under ultraviolet light inspection, there are intermittent spot retouches which appear to have consolidated areas of spot paint loss primarily located at the center of the composition and one spot area of retouching at the lower center. The lateral edges of the canvas show minor wear and soiling due to a previous frame. Unframed.
