Condition
This painting is unlined. There is some water damage which has resulted in the uneven surface on the work. There are some areas of cupping and areas of paint loss at the lower left in the water, a small area at the upper right on the sky, and an area at the upper left corner.
UNDER UV LIGHT: There are some areas in the sky and water which flouresce.

This detailed view of Hong Kong depicts St. John's Cathedral on the center left and Government House in the center, built in 1849 and 1855 respectively. The signal station, which was erected in 1861, is not shown in this painting.
