Catalogue Note

Wares decorated with the present scene are quite rare. A teapot decorated with the same 'Adam and Eve' scene from the Musée Guimet in Paris is illustrated by Beurdeley, 1962, p. 161, no. 57. See also a similar saucer sold at Christie's, New York, February 2, 1990, lot 30.
