Accompanied by a typed letter signed by Lieutenant General George E. Stratemeyer, 1 page (10 1/4 x 8 in; 260 x 204 mm) on letterhead of the Commanding General Far East Air Forces, 15 August 1950, to General MacArthur describing the contents. Original blue printed covers; upper joint cracking.

George Edward Stratemeyer (1890–1969) was commanding general of the Army Air Forces in the China-Burma-India theater during World War II. He went to Tokyo in April 1949 as commanding general of Far East Air Forces, which he led through the first year of the Korean War.
