Catalogue Note
Livret entièrement gravé à l'eau-forte, composé de 13 sonnets ou poème (en italien), 14 scènes romaines ou allégories. Les poèmes sont entourés de très beaux encadrements, dont deux sont signées par Hubert Robert.
A l'occasion d'un voyage à Rome en 1764, l'artiste et académicien Claude Henri Watelet, sa maitresse Mme Marguerite Le Comte et le mari de celle-ci sont reçus à l'Académie de France à Rome. Les pensionnaires conçoivent alors ce petit ouvrage extrêment rare. Il est le pendant des Soirées de Rome du peintre Robert qui participa à la création de ce petit ouvrage.
