Catalogue Note

Baldinucci est considéré par nombre de ses confrères postérieurs, dont Julius von Schlosser, comme l'un des plus précis et des plus brillants historiens de l'art du XVIIe siècle et de la période baroque en particulier. Il donne ici, en reprenant les termes de Schlosser, "la meilleure et la plus exacte biographie de Bernin".
