- Three Gilded and Enameled Hookah Cups, Qajar
- Heights 2 3/4 , 6 1/4 , and 1 3/8 in. 7, 15.9, and 3.5 cm.
comprising a gold and copper cup decorated in polychrome enamel with four floral bouquets of blue iris, chrysanthemums, and other flowers, an enameled and gilt copper hookah cup with four medallions, two with floral bouquets and two with portraits of a youth in Persian dress and a girl in European dress, the cup resting on a wood stem foot, and a small hookah cup with pairs of birds and floral sprays gilded on a cobalt blue enamel ground, turquoise blue glass beaded borders above and below.

acquired by the parents of the present owner in the 1960s
Condition
Cup with wood stem: missing one of four chains, a large area of restoration on the top of one side, part of which has chipped away. Restoration around edge of the rim.
Cup with gold background. No base. Signifigant restoration and losses to enamel and copper on one side.
Cup with blue ground. No base. Small areas of restoration to enamel.
