- Three Persian Bronze Kettles, Khurasan
- Bronze
- Heights at rim 5 3/4 to 7 in. 14.6 to 17.8 cm.
each engraved with inscriptions, birds, and foliate and geometric motifs, two of the buckets raised on splayed feet and retaining their suspension handles.
Provenance
acquired before 1987
Condition
Kettle without foot: missing handle, surface worn. Areas of corrosion and incrustation. Minor dents underneath.
Kettle with flat everted rim: heavily incrusted and worn, much of the decoration is obscured.
Third kettle: handle hooks fragmentary. A large crack with small pieces missing on one side of body. Extensive areas of incrustation and corrosion. Fine decoration on one side mostly visible.
