The pendant depicting heraldic peacock heads and feathers, set with an oval pink sapphire, applied with blue, green and white plique-à-jour enamel, suspending a light pink baroque freshwater pearl, the chain composed of gold links and oval plaques applied with green plique-à-jour enamel, set in the center with rose-cut diamonds, length 17¼ inches, signed L. Gautrait, French assay mark.
Condition
Signature found on the back of pendant, French assay mark on the spring ring which is an eagle head for 18 karat gold. The oval pink sapphire weighing approximately .70 carat. The pink sapphire is eye clean. The pearl is faint pink with surface blemishes and discoloration on the side and back. Enamel is in very good condition.
