The pearl measuring approximately 16.0 by 10.0 mm., within a purple plique-à-jour enamel frame set with old European-cut and rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.00 carat, mounted in 18 karat gold and platinum, length 15½ inches, French assay marks, three diamonds missing.
Condition
Set with 145 old European-cut and rose-cut diamonds. The pearl is silvery white, very faint surface irregularities, medium luster. Diamonds are near clorless, all clarities approximately VS to I. Tarnish to pearl cap. Plique à jour enamel is in very good condition, colors slightly more muted than pictured in the printed catalogue. The French assay marks are located on the left outer edge of heart-shape, face up; also on the edge on the ribbon. No platinum marks due to the piece's having been made before 1912, the year that the dog's head mark was introduced. In good condition. Accompanied by GIA report no. 2115962133 stating that the pearl is natural, saltwater.
